You can learn all about how Reiki works from books or online, but this won’t actually give you the ability to practice it. For that you need to find a Reiki teacher, and here are our recommendations for how to do that.
Find someone local
It doesn’t matter if you’ve found the most awesome Reiki teacher in the world, if you can’t actually meet them in-person for a course. Nothing can substitute for face-to-face interaction when learning a subtle art like Reiki, and so we don’t recommend learning online.
Look before you leap
Make contact with a few different Reiki teachers to see who you connect with. It’s vital that you feel safe with them. If possible, set up a conversation with them before committing to a course. Even better: get a Reiki treatment from them first.
Can I study with an isoReiki-accredited teacher?
We don’t provide a list of ‘accredited’ Reiki teachers of any particular lineage. We really want you to explore for yourself and find out who you connect to and feel safe with, as that is far more meaningful than the teacher’s lineage. To help you do this we offer a directory of completely independent teachers, Reiki Connect.
